Our Outdoor Program

Troop 75’s program revolves around the outdoors with a least one outdoor activity scheduled every month, and often more. The boys themselves usually decide where they want to go. We camp year-round and our trips are usually quite challenging. The boys set up their own campsites and cook their own meals. They learn a lot and have a great time.

We provide a variety of outdoor activities and do not limit ourselves to only one kind of event. Much of our program involves high-adventure type trips like backpacking, canoeing and long-distance hiking, but we also participate in at least two Camporees each year and usually a couple of "softer" on-island camping trips.

In addition to the numerous campouts that make up its basic program, Troop 75 also offers many other exciting opportunities such as white water canoeing, rafting, multi-day backpacking treks, trips to neighboring cities, summer camp at Yawgoog Scout Reservation, trips to national high-adventure centers like Philmont (New Mexico) and Florida Sea Base, ski weekends and more. While restrictions such as age, ability or parental participation do apply to some of these elective trips, others are open to even the youngest boys. As Troop 75’s Scouts grow older, more adventure awaits them.
