On Saturday, April 12th, Kings Park Boy Scout Troop 75 hiked through Blydenburgh Park, camping overnight, before hiking out early Sunday morning.  Every year the troop conducts this "beginner backpacking trip", generally on Long Island and in the last few years at Blydenburgh, as a way of introducing new Scouts to the fun of backpacking and preparing them for future trips.  The troop conducts most of their backpacking trips in upstate New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.  As in the past, this year several new Scouts attended and had fun learning some of the basics of outdoor living.
